Note: files on this page are generally under OSI License. Software listed is used in my production enviroment (OSX, Linux and Win).

Office Productivity

• 7-zip it runs everywhere, on OSX I suggest NeoOffice/J. (OSX, Linux and Win)
• NeoOffice/J is "office" on my iBook, still have some probs con some things, but it's usable. (OSX)

File Compression/Decompression

• 7-zip is my default compression and decompression program under Win. Highly recommended. (Win)

FTP Clients

After a lot of looking around, only a few are left standing.

• FileZilla http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/ (Win)
• CyberDuck http://icu.unizh.ch/~dkocher/cyberduck/ (OSX)

Image viewing/editing

• IrfanView at http://www.irfanview.com/ is one of the smallest and quickest around.
• XnView at http://www.xnview.com/ supports a TON of formats, and is available for free for a lot of platforms.
• The Gimp at http://www.gimp.org/ is basically the Photoshop for the Unix world. Of course it's open source, and there's a Windows port available from http://www.gimp.org/win32/.

Some useful Addons

• Bookmarksync for Mozilla http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/booksync. With this addon for Mozilla you can sync bookmarks using an FTP space.
